This is a tunnel located on the Monbetsu Atsuga Road from the Hidaka Tomikawa IC to Atsuga IC on the Hidaka Expressway that has a length of 120km from Tomakomai City to Urakawa Town.
This is one of the leading areas for raising race horses in Japan, and the top of the tunnel is a ranch for race horses. Construction was conducted while taking into consideration noises and vibrations so that excessive stress or injuries would not be caused to grazing horses.
