This tunnel is located in Yanagisawa Hokuto City, Hokkaido between Shin-Aomori and Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto (extended construction of 149km) on the Hokkaido Shinkansen Line. Construction was conducted in consideration of the environment because it is a habitat for the Northern goshawk, sparrow hawk, and black woodpecker on the bird Red List of the Ministry of the Environment.
