Since our founding in 1898, Kumagai Gumi has contributed to the development of society by inheriting the "integrity" and "spirit of challenge" embodied in the words of our founder, Santaro Kumagai: "Someday, I wish to do work that benefits society" and "“If there is any challenging construction work, let me do it.”

Times may change, society's values evolve, and social issues will continue to shift over time, but through our business activities, our hope to be of use to both the customer and society will never change.

The Kumagai Gumi Group has established its Basic Policy on Sustainability Management to identify issues considered important to stakeholders from an ESG perspective, and to pursue both solutions to social issues (social value) and the expansion of business profits (economic value) through our business activities, with the aim of realizing long-term growth and contributing to the creation of a sustainable society.

We aim to make it a corporate culture for each employee to work with a constant awareness of how they can contribute to solving social issues.
At the same time, we actively engage in dialogue with stakeholders, including on policy proposals, and strive for value creation through co-creation.
